- AAC files, also known as MP4/MPeg 4 - Are supported natively by Apple® Macintosh® (Mac Classic® or OS-X®) computers, computers running Microsoft® Windows® (XP, Vista, or 7®), Sun® Solaris®, or Linux operating systems will require a separate player or an additional codec to play these files.
- MP3 should be supported by all operating systems.
- FLAC is not native to any operating system, but can easily be converted to WAV or AIFF with free utilities, or played on alternative players, such as Winamp.
